Good news! A group of entrepreneurs from Denmark is about to launch Startuptravels. Startuptravels is a new platform allowing you to connect with local entrepreneurs and professionals while traveling. You can find a place to stay, a desk to work at or even just arrange a meet up for coffee.

Airbnb meets LinkedIn 

The founding team characterizes Startuptravels as a combination of Airbnb and LinkedIn where you can choose to charge money for a stay or you can choose to make it free of charge, which adds the dimension of couchsurfing.

“Our vision is to connect entrepreneurs around the globe and make sure to add the dimension of networking while traveling. It should be easier to connect with each other because that is when we create shared value” says founder Anders Hasselstrøm, who is excited to see the amount of people signing up for the platform from all around the world.

In the past 24 hours Startuptravels received signups from more than 20 countries and people keep signing up while sharing through the referral system.

Referral system is a key ingredient

The founding team is aware of the fact that the platform is adding value to the users if they have a truly global user base with entrepreneurs and professionals from all around the world in every city. Because of this they decided to build a referral system:

The referral system is built as a queuing system with a simple message: The more you invite the sooner you get access. Founding team

The founding team is the experienced duo Rasmus Frandsen and Anders Hasselstrøm. Even though both are students at Copenhagen Business School, Rasmus is a consultant at PwC and Anders has been involved in several startups before.
